The Barents Sea is one of the shallow shelf seas that collectively form the Arctic continental shelf. Its western boundary is defined by the shelf break towards the Norwegian Sea, the eastern boundary by Novaya Zemlya, the southern boundary by Norway and Russia, and the northern boundary by the continental shelf break towards the deep Arctic Ocean ().Cited by: Calanus finmarchicus is an important zooplankton species in the Norwegian Sea, as a dominant food organism for pelagic fish larvae, and a potentially large source of marine lipids and proteins.

In this study, the ABFT's genetic variability of this species was investigated through samples of adult ABFT collected from Spain, Turkey and Malta – across a longitudinal distance of Furevik et al.

Arctic air–sea exchange comes in many forms including fluxes of mass (water vapor, gases, and aerosol), energy (surface turbulent and radiative fluxes), and momentum that modulate global and Arctic climate variability [7,9].These radiative and surface turbulent air–sea exchanges compose the surface energy budget and control surface temperature and water phase by: Birth of an Age (The Christ Clone Trilogy, Book Two).

It is extremely rare to hear a voice that emphasizes the connection between water and climate as a. variability in the abundance and also in the interrelationship among the two major prey- predator zooplankton taxa in NE Atlantic Ocean during the study period.

The abundance of the chaetognath community in the North Sea over the years exhibited a remarkable variability in accordance with the size structure and availability of copepods. Mito, K., T. Though there is general agreement that sea ice loss contributed to the warming of the Arctic via ice–albedo feedbacks (Screen and Simmonds ), it remains controversial whether observed midlatitude cooling is related to internal atmospheric variability (Sun et al. ; McCusker et al.

Modern day droughts are equal in severity and spatial distribution to the mega-droughts that occurred between the eleventh and fourteenth centuries.

Since moving to McGill in to take up an NSERC Chair, Dr. Mysak has devoted much of his attention to the study of air-sea and air-ice-sea interactions in the northern North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean, and the role of such interactions in determining natural climate variability on interannual, decade-to-century and millennial timescales.
